The staff, from receptionists, to nurses, to fellows, to attending physicians, are extremely friendly and efficient. I didn’t have to wait. The X-rays were quick, the diagnoses and explanations were clear, and the treatment was reasonable. The doctors listened patiently and were very thorough. They did not rush me or dumb anything down for me, and that made me feel respected. I’ve been to this office twice for two separate issues, and my kids have been patients here as well. We have always felt heard. We’ve been able to resume our activities as quickly and painlessly as possible. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for sports injuries.

My 5 year old daughter had a freak accident take place causing her a broken tibia. From the moment I called SMA San Antonio, I felt 100% confident that I was making the right choice of a pediatric orthopedic dr for my daughter! The willingness to accommodate finding a swift opening for my daughter was key! They more than delivered! Her appointment time was set for 1:30pm, but we arrived early by almost an hour! We checked in, which was a complete breeze and very professional. They did not make us wait until our appointment time to be seen, instead they took us back and within 5 minutes, Dr. Rush walked into our room! His bedside manner was incredible! The nerves of a first broken bone for my daughter were put to ease with him. He didn’t introduce himself as Dr. Rush, but rather, “hey guys what’s up, I’m Jeremy”!! There was a complete comfort that only grew better with each moment of our appointment! The nurses/staff that helped cast my daughters leg were equally as amazing as Dr. Rush! I can honestly say that I have never been to a more thorough, yet relaxed and comfortable, dr appointment in all of my life! We are thankful that surgery is not on the table for my daughter….the 7 weeks of a cast followed by a boot are just fine, especially since we know and feel that Dr. Rush completely has her best interest at heart! I highly recommend SMA San Antonio to anyone needing a kind, compassionate, and professional orthopedic team!

After being given the run around & rejected several pediatric orthopedic offices & a number of pediatricians in our area, we made the decision to drive 4 hours to have our 5 year old treated by Dr. Rush! The office staff was incredibly friendly, patient, reassuring (to a nervous child) & Dr. Rush was awesome! They were extremely attentive, polite & took us serious (even though we thought it was just a sprain). The appointment was quick & thorough. By far the best decision we made for treatment! We will definitely be using SMASA if ever needed again!

I am beyond pleased with my visit at Sports medicine associates. I called the morning of and asked if I can be seen. They made an appointment for the same day in the afternoon. I have never had an appointment made for me on the same day with a specialist. This already impressed me. Walking into the clinic, the staff at the front desk were so pleasant. They were super nice and made me laugh numerous time. It definitely set the tone. I got called within a minute to the back. X-rays were taken so quickly. Then I was seen by Dr. Young’s assistant and Dr. Young himself. They were awesome. They explained everything thoroughly and were very knowledgeable. They answered all my questions. I had such a thorough exam. I have never been treated so kindly by an entire clinic from the front desk to the assistants and to the doctor. They are definitely doing something right here!!
